Our History

2010

The 12th. Annual Business Managers´ Conference was fantastic in the opinion of most of us. This year, we counted 51 participants, including 15 from the area of Admission & Marketing. Paul Poore and the AASSA team were the main factors.

The selected focus was on Strategic Marketing and Communications for Schools, and the speaker Dr. David Willows (ISB) made the 2 days outstanding in applicable issues and participation.

Other issues were: Investing exercise (CV Advisors), benefits of establishing a Foundation (J. Goldin), and an overview of the AASSA Purchasing System (P.Poore). Karla Lizano & Carlos Rodriguez presented “Lincoln School * Costa Rica”, and Claudia Pacha and Carlos Patiño, “Lincoln School * Buenos Aires”.

José Carlos Cardozo now takes the presidency of LAASBO as Carlos Patiño stepped down after 3 years in this prestigious position.

This School year was a period where most of the economic factors impacted our Schools in the Region were positive, and allowed some type of enhancement of finances, enrollment as a consequence, and also in the final results.
On the other hand several of our Countries had severe natural disasters, such as earthquakes, severe rains, devastating fires, volcano eruptions, storms, etc. Despite the tremendous moral and economic damages, the aim was to face the problems and emerge even stronger, with the international help.
